String Crossings is Belmont University’s annual week-long summer camp where current high school string students learn and perform music from a diverse set of genres including classical, jazz, rock, celtic, swing, and bluegrass. Students have the opportunity to study with Belmont's world-renowned faculty, explore creative musicianship and technique in all styles, participate in interactive performances, and immerse themselves in an exciting week of making music with new friends! Application Window: January 14-March 14. We’ve created an immersive fiddle/violin experience focused on developing an individual musical voice through exploration of rhythm, technology, and style. Open to all ages and intermediate-professional levels, we bring together adventurous, open-minded players from across the globe—of any style, number of strings, acoustic or electric—to be a part of our community. In fact, all instruments are welcome who want to study with our world-class faculty and don’t mind joining a bowed-centric group. INSTRUCTORS: Darol Anger (5-string fiddle), Mikael Marin (5-string viola), Kathleen Parks (5-string fiddle), Cedric Watson (4-string fiddle), Casey Driessen (5-string fiddle) & Jeff Sipe (rhythm).

Nurture your creative self with others who feel the same way you do about your music. Our counselors help to “break the ice” and build lasting friendships between our young musicians. They provide strict supervision day and night with students that are grouped according to age. $1,650. Ages 12(as of 9.1.26 and going into 7th grade to adult. Instructors: Mark Wood, Dr. David Wallace, Tracy Silverman, Haydn Vitera, Felicia Rojas, Matt Bell, Greg Byers, & Chuck Bontrager.

OHIO Summer Music Academy 2026

The Ohio University School of Music welcomes students to our Summer Music Academy! For more than 20 years, musicians have been coming together on our Athens, Ohio campus to enhance their musicianship, develop their performance skills, and collaborate with fellow high school musicians from the region and beyond. Our award-winning faculty work with students and share their experiences in the field.
