Roisel Suarez

Born on November 8, 1994, in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, Roisel Alejandro Suárez Bosque is a versatile musician, known for his skills as a trumpeter, composer, and arranger. His dynamic nature has driven him to perform in over 10 countries, introducing his music to diverse international audiences and collaborating with celebrated Cuban and global artists. Through these musical partnerships, he continually refines his craft, using each note to intricately craft tales and evoke heartfelt emotions. His journey in music exemplifies his capacity to transcend boundaries, sharing his passion and distinctive talent, enriching the global musical landscape.Graduating from the National School of Arts in Cuba in 2013, during his student years, he was a student leader and the founder of the Jazz Band Orchestra at the ENA under the guidance of Orlando Sanchez (Cubajazz) and Roberto García. His passion for composing and arranging music for diverse ensembles was solidified in 2010 when he won the First Prize for Performance at the International Contest of Young Jazz Musicians (Jojazz). He was also awarded the Composition Prize of the same contest in 2012. This opportunity led him to work closely with the Latin Grammy Winner producer Joaquín Betancourt until 2017.Throughout his professional career, he has explored an extensive range of artistic projects, collaborating with prominent Cuban artists such as Alain Pérez and the Orchestra,Omara Portuondo, NG la Banda, and Roberto Fonseca. He has also worked as an arranger on the "La Banda Gigante" program for the television production company RTV Comercial under the direction of Carlos Gaytan. Additionally, he has recorded in numerous musical productions for renowned cuban record labels like Egrem and Colibrí with bands such as Orquesta Aragón, Beatriz Márquez, Anais Abreu, the Conjunto Chappottin and the Grammy winner Charlex Fox.In 2019, Suárez realized his dream of forming his own band, culminating in the recording of his inaugural concert, "Desahogo," at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Cuba. Moving to Quito, Ecuador, in 2020, he continued his musical journey with the Ecuadorian group "Pies en la Tierra," led by Cayo Iturralde, collaborating on tracks like "Millennial's Sound," released in 2022. His discography expanded with releases such as "Selfie" and "Gaytán Coffee" in 2020, followed by "Petricor" in 2021 and "If I Were to Lose You" in 2023. He was invited to perform with his quartet at the Ecuador Jazz Festival and the Humboldt Jazz Fest in 2021, leaving his artistic mark across Ecuador. During the summer of 2022, Suárez made Atlanta, Georgia his home base, engaging as a session musician. In this role, he has partnered with several acclaimed Latin artists including Maelo Ruiz, Ismael Miranda, Conjunto Chaney, and Mauro Mosquera.
