Awarded periodically at the discretion of the ASTA Board of Directors.


Artist Teacher Award

This recognition is awarded annually by the ASTA National Board of Directors to a pedagogue of renowned stature from North America.


Arts Advocacy Award

Recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to promoting

arts education.


Arts Philanthropist of the Year Award

Recognizes an individual who has made significant financial contributions to arts education.


ASTA Content Creation Award

This award, given periodically at the discretion of the ASTA National Board, recognizes a content creator who has made significant contributions to string education digital content (e.g., pedagogical resources, advocacy materials, commentary, etc.).


ASTA Orchestra Repertoire and Literature Award

This award, given periodically at the discretion of the ASTA National Board, recognizes a composer or arranger who has made significant contributions to the orchestra literature (string and/or full) and/or pedagogical materials in service of string education.


ASTA Solo Repertoire Award

This award, given periodically at the discretion of the ASTA National Board, recognizes a composer or arranger who has made significant contributions to the solo repertoire in service of string education.


Distinguished Service Award

Recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to the profession.


Isaac Stern International Award

Recognizes an individual of renowned stature who has made significant contributions to the profession internationally.


Marvin J. Rabin Community Service Award

This award, given periodically at the discretion of the ASTA National Board, recognizes an individual or organization making significant contributions to their local, regional, or professional community through teaching and demonstrated leadership.


Outstanding Service Organization Award

This award recognizes an established not-for-profit organization of renowned stature that embodies current and distinguished service to the community, helps lead deeply impactful positive change, and demonstrates a commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and access in the field of string teaching, performing, and/or scholarship.


Paul Rolland Lifetime Achievement Award

This award, given periodically at the discretion of the ASTA National Board, recognizes a pedagogue of renowned stature who has made significant contributions to the profession throughout their career.


Traugott Rohner Leadership in the Music Industry

Recognizes a string industry leader whose identity is primarily within North America.
