ASTA National Leadership Call for Nominations
We are seeking nominations for individuals qualified to serve in national leadership positions on the ASTA Leadership. Any ASTA member may nominate a colleague or self-nominate for any position.

Nominations Due: September 15, 2026
Nomination forms below cover all positions. Nominators will be asked to provide contact information (first name, last name, email address) for themself and the individual they are nominating.
Candidates will hear back from ASTA by the end of October regarding their application. Thank you for considering these national service opportunities to serve the string teaching profession.
Nominees will be asked to answer the following questions:
- How long have you been teaching and/or performing?
- Briefly describe your teaching setting in 25 words or less (e.g., suburban area studio teacher specializing in beginning violin and viola students with private and group instruction)
- Highlight ASTA activities you have participated in (e.g., conference attendee, session presenter, presider, ASTACAP adjudicator) (100 words or less)
- Highlight leadership positions in ASTA and/or other organizations (state, local, national, e.g., committee member, ASTACAP chair) held in the previous 10 years (100 words or less)
- Why are you interested in serving ASTA in one of these roles at this time? (200 words or less)
- How will you contribute to ASTA’s role in building and growing string education? (200 words or less)
- Do you have specific goals and/or ideas to help the board and ASTA realize the strategic plan? (200 words or less)
- Describe your approach to relating effectively with colleagues, students, and parent volunteers whose viewpoints and experiences differ from your own. (200 words or less)
- Please include what strengths you will bring to the selected position (specialization, understanding of specific groups of members, ability to think deeply and communicate professionally, etc.). (200 words or less)
- Please share anything else you would like the Nominating Committee to consider about your candidacy. (200 words or less)
