In addition to joining a national organization of more than 7,000 members, your membership also includes membership in your state chapter.

NEW Professional ($85)

Anyone new to the ASTA community is eligible for a reduced rate during their first year as a professional member. Student members joining as professional members are eligible. Additionally, we welcome members who have been inactive for three or more years at this reduced rate. 

Professional ($120 annually)

Open to all string teachers, performers, and supporters of the string community. Professional members receive all benefits, including the ability to vote and elect officers.

Senior ($85 annually)

Open to those members who are 62 or older. Senior members enjoy all of the benefits of Professional membership at a reduced rate. Birth date is required.

Dual ($185 annually)

Open to all Professional couples residing at the same address. One membership fee covers both Professional memberships; however, only one copy of the American String Teacher journal is received per household.

Student ($49 annually)

Open to full-time students only. Students receive all benefits. To qualify under this category, students MUST provide 1) date of birth, 2) anticipated graduation date, and 3) evidence of full-time enrollment (i.e., copy of current school ID card, copy of class schedule or tuition payment receipt, confirmation from registrar on school letterhead, birth certificate, etc.). If student joins ASTA online, he or she must submit proof of full-time status within 10 business days (via mail, fax, or email). Otherwise, it should accompany the mailed application form.
