ASTA Student Chapters



ASTA supports an extensive network of more than 50 student chapters. These chapters, managed for and by students, create valuable opportunities for professional development, leadership, and lasting relationships between peers and mentors.

ASTA student chapters support your academic studies, power your network, and provide opportunities that will propel your career in strings education. In addition to benefits for members, many chapters are involved with community outreach to provide service to their community and spread the value of music, strings, and string education.

If your university already has a chapter, we encourage you to become an active member. If your school does not yet have a chapter, we invite you to consider establishing one. Students who participate in ASTA Student Chapters receive many benefits, including:

Student Chapters at ASTA National Conference

Be part of a community as unique as you are. Have your student chapter attend the ASTA National Conference to:

  • ​Network with potential employers and mentors
  • Network with other student chapters
  • Attend educational sessions and workshops
  • Support middle and high school orchestras in the National Orchestra Festival
  • Receive a discounted rate if 5 or more of your student chapter members register together*

*Each student chapter member registering must be a current ASTA member in good standing. Student chapter members must register together and submit their registration forms either electronically or by mail to the ASTA National Office. Online registrations are not eligible for the discount.
