Emphasis will be placed on how to use the looper as a tool toÊteach composition, rhythm, bass lines, and improvisation as well as applications for all of the above in the private studio and/or classroom or orchestra for practice as well as performance. Healthy Teacher, Healthy Classroom: Wellness Workshop for String Educators. As educators and musicians our most important role is sharing our love of music with our students, but that becomes difficult if we ourselves are burned out, unmotivated, and/or unhealthy. This 3-hour workshop will reinvigorate you by looking at Body, Mind and Spirit through the lens of being an educator and musician. Wear comfortable clothes because we will stretch, do yoga, and move our bodies as well as inspire our minds.

Jumpstart Your Career: Virtual Teaching and Career-Building Strategies to Ignite Your Future! Calling all future and early career classroom teachers! New to teaching strings in a group setting? Jumpstart your career by participating in a highly interactive virtual teaching lab! Attendees will gather optimal strategies for planning, delivery, and assessment of teaching string lessons. As a participant, you will receive feedback on your personal cover letter and resume and will also further develop interview skills for presenting your best professional self! DEADLINE for registering is Monday, February 15. After registration has closed, participants will receive further communication about submitting your cover letter, resume, and a lesson plan for your virtual teaching experience. In the post-registration email, we will provide you with access to a score for your mini-lesson as well as templates and resources to build your materials. Registration Terms & Conditions:

Full conference registration includes all conference sessions, connection events, and feature performances March 3 - 7, 2021. **Pre-conference Deep Dive Workshops require an additional fee and are not included in full conference registration. See conference pricing above.**

Consider adding a pre-conference workshop to your registration. **Each of these pre-conference workshops requires a separate registration fee. See conference pricing above.**

Only individuals registered and paid in full will receive login access to the 2021 Virtual ASTA National Conference. Login access information is unique for each registrant and cannot be shared or transferred at any time.

Attendees may register by credit card or check. All fees are in U.S. dollars. If you are issuing a check from outside the U.S., the check must be bank-issued in U.S. funds (not handwritten).

All checks must be made payable to: ASTA or American String Teachers Association. Check payments via regular mail must be sent to: ASTA, 4155 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA 22030.

Payments are typically processed within 10 business days. Payments that are not received and/or postmarked by the registration deadlines will be subject to additional fees. ASTA is not responsible for delayed mail or incorrectly addressed correspondence.

Purchase Orders: Purchase orders must be paid by February 1, 2021, or the balance will be collected before entry to the conference is authorized.

If you provide payment and require a charge to be reversed to use another form of payment, you will be charged a $50 administrative fee.

All cancellation requests must be received in writing by February 5, 2021. Refund requests received after this date will NOT be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS. Refunds will be processed after the conference and a $50 cancellation fee per registration will be applied.

Registration and attendance at, or participation in, the ASTA Virtual National Conference and its affiliated events and activities constitutes an agreement by the attendee to ASTA's use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the individual’s image, likeness, or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, live chat discussions during education sessions, and audiotapes of such events and activities for promotional purposes.

ASTA will communicate important information leading up to the conference by email, including virtual conference login access, education handouts and resources, and industry partner communications.
