Chamber Music Reading Session

Bring your instrument for this interactive reading session as we play through and discuss pedagogical concepts from a curated selection of chamber music. This high school level reading repertoire has been sequenced to examine pedagogical topics such as rhythm, tone, intonation, articulation, balance, hypermeter, phrasing, and expressivity; these outstanding chamber works can be performed in breakaway ensembles or as arrangements for string orchestras. Whether teaching an orchestra or directing small ensembles, the use of chamber repertoire and breakaway groups enables a unique in-depth opportunity to expand student learning.
