Moving Past Cultural Programming to Build a More Diverse and Equitable Studio

This workshop is for applied professors who have a genuine desire to increase BIPOC representation in their studios. Participants will create a statement of standpoint/personal manifesto and recruiting strategies for BIPOC students. Cultural programming and possible blind spots will be discussed. In preparation for this workshop, participants will need to complete readings (less than 20 pages total), bring their school's mission, vision, and/or diversity statement, and demographic information about their applied studio, institution, city, and state. - Presenter: Maureen Yuen, Drake University
