Know Your Fingerboard Geography: A Cellist's Practical Guide to Understanding Playing Positions, Shifting, Gaining left hand security and Centered Intonation
For teachers, ensemble directors and cello players of all levels, this session offers detailed explanations of systematic left hand positions, based on chromatic vs. diatonic orientation, 4-finger poisons, 3-finger positions and thumb position. Other topics include concepts of arm/finger preparation, anticipation, shifting technique and vibrato.
